Chapter One Winery, Changzhou Art Exhibit (10-19-13)

Really cool experience! This winery held an art Exhibit to show case traditional Changzhou art. There was calligraphy, some one who made art out of sugar that you could eat, another man there could take a leaf and transform it into beautiful animals or almost anything that you wanted. There were people who took string and a needle and made amazing art work, this amazed me the most. The pictures didn't look like it used string it looked like paint and they were so detailed. Another woman decorated these small combs and they were so beautiful. There was many other forms of art to many to remember. They also served some delicious cakes and deserts native to Changzhou! I was also able to try a few of the different types of art and some of them are hard to do make look nice. It was so much fun and intersting.   

This was upstairs and the wall says Chapter One, I just couldn't get the whole sign it was soooo big!

This is Summer one of the teachers I work with who brought me to the winery.

 This man was the artist who was demonstrating how to do calligraphy, he was so fast and good at it!

String art?  I am not sure what it is called, but it looked amazing and very, very detailed.

This is the comb I was able to paint and make. The woman helped me and added more detail for me. 

Beautiful butterfly the man made out of a leave he folded and twisted. He then took a read marker and added the detail.

 Sugar Art!  Very Beautiful and delicious! You can't tell but one of them is a dragon others are butterfly's and rabbits.

 

The one I made is on the stick as you can tell it's not as good as his.... haha
