Day of Arrival Friday August 23, 2013

First day here was hectic. My flight was 14 hours from Detroit which felt like the longest thing ever! I met up with other teachers and we were brought to our hotel which was pretty nice. We went out to eat at a restaurant outside of Shanghai, it was really good. The way the food looked, I was a skeptic at first but it tasted really good. I definitely need to work on my chop stick skills. The city was really busy and interesting to see. There are defiantly things you right away surprised me be, like people smoking in restaurants and babies just sitting on their parents lap in the front seat, and men riding standing up in the back of trucks on a four lane highway, things that you don’t see back home.
